Description:
Trained Medical Assistant - Must be able to do primary care. TMA, will have duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The TMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The TMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the MA to the area’s policies and procedures. The TMA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety. The TMA demonstrates problem-solving skills as they relate to patient care activities, provides guidance for and acts as a role model for Medical Assistants in the clinical area.
Work Setting Experience: Geriatric Center & Hospital
General Skills Experience required: Immunizations, Obtaining Vital Signs, Obtain Health History, Hearing & Vision Testing, Flu Shots, IM Injections, 12 Lead EKG, Administering TB Test
- BLS & CMA preferred.
- 1yr experience required.
- MUST HAVE MARYLAND GNA LICENSE & MARYLAND CERTIFIED MEDICINE AIDE (CMA) CERTIFICATION!
- Orientation days Tues-Friday during day shift
- Every other weekend
- Can choose 36 or 48 hour contract
- May be required to float to other units
- May be asked to perform duties that fall under GNA license such as feed, reposition and toilet patients/residents.

FACILTY IS EXTREMELY STRICT ON TIME AND ATTENDANCE POLICIES. - ZERO TOLERANCE FOR TARDINESS AND UNEXCUSED ABSENCES.
- RTO - Must work every other holiday. The holidays for this rule are as follows: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Blackout Dates: Super Bowl Sunday, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve are hard to staff, so RTO approvals will be limited.

Facility Highlights:
Household Units (HH) – (LTC): Provides long-term care for patients. Households are comprised of six units with 14 private bedrooms in each. Each HH has a central kitchen where a hostess can cook for the patients daily, a den with books and a large-screen television, and a washer and dryer so that staff can wash residents’ clothing separately. HH 5-6 are for patients that may be suffering from dementia or reduced cognitive abilities; due to this staff members must badge-in
and badge-out to prevent patients from exiting the units. Staff members must be able to recognize an individual’s likes, dislikes, routines, and needs and deliver care based on that information.
