Registered Nurse POSITION:
Change the lives of our patients/residents and at the same time enjoy the rewards of fully knowing your patients/residents and their families as a Registered Nurse. You will provide care for a variety of patients/residents with an array of complex diagnoses leading to enhanced knowledge and skills in many different areas.
CERTIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years-Experience with routine newborn care, ability to attend deliveries and resuscitate infants at delivery. Ability to transition infants after delivery
- Years of experience Preferred: 2 + years’ experience with level 2 babies (premature deliveries, 32 weeks and above)
- First-timers are not accepted
- License REQ: SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- Certs REQ (MUSC only accepts American Heart Association (AHA)): BLS, NRP
Certs Preferred: STABLE - Experience Required: Level 2 Nursery. Needs to have experience in resuscitating newborn at delivery and stabilize premature newborn for transfer to higher level of care.
- Experience Preferred: Mother-Baby, with 1 to 3+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Shift: Will accept 3x12s or 4x12s-6:45p-7:15a, Holiday rotation
- Ratios: 1:3
- Every other weekend as needed
- 2 on-call shifts every 6 weeks for those working 3x12s
- Floating is required to sister units. As the nursery RN, they will be expected to catch and transition babies in L&D within the 1st 2-3 hours of life. Will also be expected to float to Mom-Baby where they could take a newborn assignment. (Mom-Baby/Couplet Care preferred)
Current CPR/BLS certification, Physical, TB test

Local Rule: MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates first. Radius rule is 60 miles.

Previous perm staff(this includes PRN) must be separated from the MUSC system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.

South Carolina RN License: MUSC will prioritize candidates that have SC license in hand. We will still consider candidates with a pending license at the time of submission – please provide proof that they have applied for the license or confirm that they can complete the SC walk-through process. Traveler will not be cleared to report to the facility until SC license is issued/active.

Hurricane Season** Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
